Complete Keyboard Shortcuts Reference
Quay 2 is engineered for complete keyboard navigability. Inspired by tmux, all primary window, stage, and tool commands use the Ctrl+B prefix chord.
Quay 2 swallows the Ctrl+B prefix, as tmux does, so the focused terminal pane does not receive it. Pressing Ctrl+B in a Claude Code pane starts the chord and does not background the running task.
- Send a literal
Ctrl+B: pressCtrl+B Ctrl+B. The focused pane gets oneCtrl+B, so Claude Code backgrounds its task, tmux or psmux running in the pane gets its prefix, and vim, emacs and readline get theCtrl+Bthey expect. - A key that is not a chord ends the prefix and goes to the terminal as typed.
Shiftand the other modifier keys do not end it, soCtrl+B %andCtrl+B "work. - Text fields: in an input box, such as a modal's branch name field,
Ctrl+Bdoes not start a chord and keys are typed as usual.Ctrl+Kworks everywhere.
